HYBRID
DESIGN STUDIO
We are two freelance art directors, with a product designer background and a solid experience in Parisians creative agencies as designers and lead designers.
It is our ambition to scale our technical and creative skills into the design process of object, brands and spaces — reals or virtuals — and our desire to work on projects with an ethical, sustainable or cultural aspect.

Harold graduated in 2002 in product design from the ENSAAMA (Olivier de Serres), with a project about the position of users and the transposition of usual services process methodologies into objects. Apart from his studies, he runs several activities like former executive director of N’KO (the school’s junior company), prizewinner of the european design contest TUBISM or co-founder of a web start-up.
After graduating, he worked as teacher in graphic design and Flash development in the IUT of Blois, and joined the Designers Associés agency in Ivry-Sur-Seine in 2003. He stayed there for 6 years, successively as designer then director of design, and working with Bastien Sabatier on the development of new tools and methods like : 3D rendering and animation, creation of preliminary draft toolboxes, user-oriented approach and eco-design. They still worked together after they have left Designers associés for their own agency HYBRID, a cross media design studio.

In 2001 Bastien graduated in industrial design at the ENSAAMA (Olivier de Serres) and then continued his studies in England at the Birmingham’s Institute of Arts and Design, which he left in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in product design, and a Master of Arts with Honours in user experience design. His graduation subject was about the designer’s accountability for his work in our consumer-driven society. After that, Bastien integrated the APCI (Agency for the Industrial Creation Promotion) for the purpose of the 2005 national competition « l’Observeur du Design », mostly with the responsibility of project selections and customer relationship.
Bastien joined the Designers Associés agency at Ivry-Sur-Seine in 2005, as designer then lead-designer. Beside the creative part of his work, his main responsibility was to develop the interface design activity and focusing the team work on an user-oriented perspective. Members of the Moontrack collective from the beginning, he was also involved in the organisation of severals artistic events — stage and graphic design. In 2008 he cofounded HYBRID with Harold Kuhnel, a cross media design studio.
